Community Lifestyle Support (Bundaberg)

Community Lifestyle Support (CLS) is a nonprofit organisation providing support to people with a disability in the Bundaberg region. CLS is actively working to develop a new business unit focused on Assistive Technology to increase or maintain the capabilities of people with disabilities. CLS’ vision includes the development of a makerspace/innovation hub focusing on R&D and technology education for Assistive Technology. The future space is centered on user design and will allow individuals with a disability to collaborate directly with engineers, software designers and clinicians to create solutions which directly meet their needs. As the space grows and develops, there is additional capacity for this innovation hub to expand beyond Assistive Technology (e.g. agriculture). http://www.communitylsinc.com.au/

 The Indigenous Knowledge Centre (Cherbourg)

The Indigenous Knowledge Centre is similar to a library, it is a centrally located facility with good internet access and has a range of programs for people to access, some of these are business development and entrepreneurial, one program to be delivered there soon is “Black Girls Can Code”. With the intention to include all genders in the future and encourage people to have a go at coding. The Indigenous Knowledge Centre has good internet connectivity and iPads available for use.

Startup Gympie

Gympie Regional Council is implementing the StartUp Gympie Region program of events through funding provided by the Advance Queensland Program. Startup Gympie Region will see a 12 month program of workshops, networking events and information sessions delivered throughout the region, targeted at supporting the startup and growth of high potential new business as well as assisting established businesses to grow and develop. All events and activities included in Startup Gympie Region program are aimed at building a strong network of growth oriented startup businesses.
